VALENTINE (who will perform Monday at the Empty Bottle) and we also get ready fro a big Chic-A-Go-Go taping Saturday at noon followed by a huge historical event, THE SECRET HISTORY OF CHICAGO ZINES EVENT/PARTY with Plastic Crimewave (Galactic Zoo Dossier) Chris Ware (Ragtime Ephemeralist), Jake Austen and James Porter (Roctober), Karen Wehrle (Coolest Retard), Dan Sinker (Punk Planet), Ed Blair (Black Metal of the Americas) and many more for a discussion of the rich history of music zines in Chicago. There will be food! drinks! panel discussion! video! And pick up copies of a special limited edition zine/record set (with much love to all our independent record store friends on record store day). 7Pm at Powell’s Books 1218 S. Halsted.
